A shared direction without absorption
What does it mean to belong?
At the present stage, belonging means voluntarily sharing the membership-defining principles and genuinely moving in the same ethical direction.
The essential distinction
Belonging identifies a real direction. It does not certify completion.
What belonging can include
A person may begin imperfectly, minimally, and without institutional recognition.
A person may genuinely belong while participating alone, disagreeing on unresolved secondary questions, using a reserved stance toward religious expression, or repeatedly needing correction after entering hamarten.
The necessary reality is a sincere relation to the shared core and direction toward agat. Registration helps make belonging explicit and continuous, but it does not authorize or manufacture it.
Belonging does not require
No threshold of prestige, completion, or conformity.
- 01Moral perfection or enteliness
- 02Complete knowledge of the philosophy
- 03Identical metaphysical beliefs
- 04Regular meeting attendance
- 05Use of every technical term
- 06Obedience to a central institution
A personal unit remains real
Joining others never makes the individual institutionally disappear.
Every participant remains a personal unit. Joining a group creates a voluntary association; it does not rank the person beneath the group, transfer responsibility for moral judgment, or authorize control outside the association’s disclosed scope.
Peaceful departure and movement between units require no institutional permission or moral defense.
