Discovery 02
When another life becomes as real as your own
What becomes clear when another person’s experience becomes fully real to you?
You experience life from within. Your happiness matters because it is felt. Your pain matters because it is lived.
The same is true for every other person.
When awareness fully enters another point of view, the difference between mine and theirs remains personal—but it loses its power to determine whose happiness matters more.
The same discovery, life after life
Pause for a moment inside another person’s point of view.
From within their life, their happiness is not secondary. Their pain is not distant. Their hopes, fears, memories, and possibilities form the center of the only life they can experience from within.
Now move from that person to another.
The face changes. The history changes. The relationship changes. But the reality of being someone—the capacity to experience happiness and suffering from within—remains.
The conclusion does not need to be imposed
It reveals itself again wherever experience exists.
Nothing about being me gives my happiness a different kind of reality. Nothing about being someone else makes their happiness less real.
Once the same capacity to experience is present, the same intrinsic importance follows.
This is not a value placed upon another life from the outside. It is what becomes visible when that life is perceived from within.
Why settle for a happiness that can survive only by turning away from what has become clear?
