Reserved stance
The reserved stance is neither doxastic nor non-doxastic engagement with a particular expression or practice.
The distinction it protects
Declining a resource does not mean abandoning the path.
A person may remain reserved toward particular theological, religious, or symbolic resources while still sharing and following the defining ethical direction.
In the path
Leave unused what you cannot engage honestly.
The reserved stance preserves freedom of conscience. It may leave some psychological or expressive resources unused, but it does not exclude a person from participation.
